Help on Commenting...
We use Disqus for managing comments. It’s the most widely used comment management system on the Web today, so you may have see it and may even have registered with them before. If not, read on.
To leave a comment, click the comments link at the bottom of the post. It will probably look something like “Click here — 0 Comments and 0 Reactions”. The screen will refresh and you’ll see something like this:
Click in the “Leave a message…” field. When you do, the screen will change to something like this:
Complete your comment and then either sign in using one of the social networking links (e.g., Facebook) or by entering your name.
If you choose to use a social networking ID, click the appropriate icon and a window from Disqus will pop up asking for permission to use your information. You’ll then be asked for a password. Enter your social networking password and continue.
If, on the other hand, you choose not to use a social network ID, click in the “Name” field and the screen will change once again to something like this:
At this time you have a choice. If you think you’ll be leaving more comments in the future, the easiest thing to do is to register by entering your name (something short, memorable, and unique like “SneakyPete1965”), your email address, and a password. That will register you with Disqus and you’ll be recognized next time you want to leave a comment.
If, on the other hand, you choose not to register, click the “I’d rather post as a guest” checkbox. The “Password” field will disappear and you can then proceed by entering only your name and email.
Regardless of how you got to this point, you can now post you comment by clicking the right-facing arrow to the right of the name field. Don’t worry if your comment doesn’t appear immediately, as it may require approval before it’s actually posted.
That’s it. If you have problems, click the “[Contact us]” link at the bottom of the page and describe your problem. I’ll look into it and get back to you as soon as possible.
Thanks for visiting, and thanks in advance for your comments.
